Amelia Blackwell Cheema

January 14, 1979 – July 15, 2019

Memorial services for Mrs. Amelia Cheema, 40, will be held in the chapel of Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, at 3 P.M. on Saturday, July 20, 2019.  Mrs. Cheema, a resident of Portland, Oregon, died there on Sunday, July 14, 2019.

She was born January 14, 1979 in McComb, Mississippi, the daughter of Allen and Sherry Blackwell who survive.  She was a member of and volunteer for the United States Fencing Organization.  She attended the Mississippi School for Math and Science, Mississippi State University, and graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Economics.  She enjoyed running marathons, traveling around the world, and spending time with her children.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents:  James and Virginia Blackwell, Fred and Della Williams, and her father-in-law, Akhtar Cheema.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Mubashir Cheema;  children: Sophia and Hyder Cheema; two sisters: Adrienne (Jeremy) Davis, and Sarah (Thomas Langford) Blackwell; a mother-in-law, Naeem Cheema; one sister-in-law, Tahira Cheema;  two brothers-in-law:  Mudassar Cheema and Asghar Cheema; one niece: Sierra Martin; one nephew: Connor Davis; and a host of loving friends and family.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 1 P.M. till service time at the funeral home.
