Ann Johnson
Morris
January 7, 1944 – March 25, 2024
Ann Johnson Morris, age 80, passed away peacefully in her home on March 25, 2024 from
complications of late stage Alzheimers Disease. Ann was born on January 7, 1944, in
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Fletcher and Doris Johnson of Runnelstown. She married her
longtime love, Bill Morris, on July 17, 1964. Bill and Ann were a few short months away from
celebrating 60 years of marriage.
Ann loved her family immensely. She took great pleasure in caring for each of them and
pridefully served them at every opportunity she could get. She talked daily to her beloved
daughter, Kathy, and enjoyed each moment to the fullest with her son, William. Her
grandchildren were the light of her life. She shared her love through her gift of cooking and
loved to offer up grilled cheeses and bacon at the drop of a hat. She could often be found
sitting on the front porch with Bill just enjoying the simple things in life.
Ann was born the baby of four children and attended Runnelstown High school where she
played basketball and was voted Most Beautiful and Homecoming Queen. She never lost her
love for her birth place. She often spoke of her childhood and there was no mistaking the love
she had for her siblings through her many stories and just casual conversation. She and her
sister Jean talked nearly every day of their lives prior to her illness. You could find Ann each
Sunday on the back left pew at Crystal Springs Baptist Church where she served as Church
Secretary for 16 of the 54 years she was a member there.
Ann's life was a shining example of a Proverbs 31 woman. 10 "A wife of noble character who
can find? She is worth far more than rubies." 11 "Her husband has full confidence in her and
lacks nothing of value." 28"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he
praises her." 29"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." 31"Honor her for all
her hands have done, and let her works bring praise at the city gate." Phillipians 2: 3-4 "Do
nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above
yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others." This
verse couldn't describe the way Ann lived her life more perfectly. She was the kindest, most
humble woman you will ever meet and was known for her sweet disposition. Her impact on her
friends and family will be forever missed. We have no doubt that she entered the Heavenly
Gate and was told "Well done my good and faithful servant".
Ann is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill Morris, her sister Jean Carter (Billy) of
Runnelstown; her sister-in-law Judy (William) Fortenberry of Madison; her daughter Kathy
(Bruce) Knippers of Dexter; her son William (Paula) Morris of Hattiesburg; her granddaughter
Noelle (BJ) Storey, her grandsons Dylan Knippers, Tripp Morris, Tucker Morris, Truitt Morris and
her great granddaughter Luna Storey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and
Doris Johnson, her beloved brothers Carl and Clay Johnson, all of Runnelstown, MS.
