Aubrey Lamar Brumfield

December 28, 1933 – January 20, 2023

Aubrey Lamar Brumfield, 89 of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away Friday, January 20, 2023. He was born Thursday, December 28, 1933 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Albert Sidney and Annie Mabel Brumfield. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son Sidney Lamar Brumfield.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, Mississippi. Graveside services will follow in Tylertown Cemetery II with Bro. Wayne Hall officiating. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Aubrey proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy for 23 years. After retiring from the Navy he became a teacher pouring his knowledge into student in and out of the classroom at Tylertown High School. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, working on the farm, talking about the Navy, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years Margaret Brumfield;  son David Russell Brumfield (Sue);  daughter-in-law  Teresa Brumfield; grandchildren Melissa Portwood (Connor), Russell Brumfield and Garrett Brumfield (Maddie);  great grandchildren Adelyn Portwood, Josiah Portwood and Elias Portwood; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
