Barbara "Janie" Johnson Blackwell

Graveside services for Barbara "Janie" Johnson Blackwell, 73, of Tylertown, Mississippi will be held at New Zion Cemetery on Thursday July 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dan Perry and Rev. Michael Knippers officiating.

Mrs. Blackwell passed at her residence on Monday, June 29, 2020. She was born June 26, 1947 in Lexington, Tennessee to the late Addie and James Johnson.

She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and worked at Dexter Grocery for 12 years. While working there she enjoyed helping her customers who turned into her friends while getting to know them and spending time with them. Mrs. Blackwell also enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers along with  spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Survivors include her son Derek (Theresa) Blackwell; daughter Lora (Greg) Duncan; grandchildren Austin Blackwell, Garrett Golden, Graycee Hilburn, Aaron Duncan; great-grandchildren Jace Hilburn, Adalynn Blackwell, Tucker Hilburn, Carter Golden; sister Susan Roberson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
