Mrs. Barbara Louann Holmes, 81 of Tylertown, M ississippi passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her residence . She was born Sunday, January 18, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM at Capps Funeral Home in 270 Old Hwy 98 E, Tylertown, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Tylertown, Mississippi. Reverend Justin Knight will officiate. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Louann re ceived her bachelor's d egre e from Mississippi C ollege and master's degree from William Carey University . She retired after spending a career in education, mostly teaching second grade. Mrs. Louann was a member and Sunday School teacher at Tylertown Baptist Church for many years. She loved gardening, her faith, her family, and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Sidney Gerald "Jerry" Holmes ; father Lloyd McKinley; and mother Corinne Brig ham McKinle y.

Survivors include her sons Jeremy Holmes (Blaize) and Chase Holmes (Carol); grandchildren Olivia Holmes, Grant Holmes, Hallie Holmes and Maddox Holmes; brother Mike McKinley (Joan); sister Karen Ellis (George) ; sister -in- law Diane Gardner; a long with a host of loving friends and family.

The Holmes family would like to say a special thank you to the caregivers, Jeanette Jefferson, Renee Enlow, and Jodi Hutson.

Pallbearers will be Donald Jenkinson, Nyles Branch, Keith Pigott, David Youngblood, Trevor May, and

Brian Magee.
