Funeral services for Bertilde Bennett Pittman, 97, of Tylertown, MS will be held at Hartman Hughes Funeral Home Chapel on November 21, 2019 with Brother Dan Perry and Brother Michael Knippers officiating. Burial will be in the New Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Pittman passed away at Billdora Senior Care Center in Tylertown, Mississippi on Sunday, November 17, 2019. She was born May 4, 1922 in Columbia, Mississippi to the late Idell and Daniel Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Pittman; son-in-law Wilton Hughes; grandson Donald Hughes; brother Dewitt Bennett; and sister Ruth Smith.

Mrs. Bertilde was the oldest member of New Zion Baptist Church. She loved flowers, cooking, and sewing.

Survivors include her daughters Glyndon Hughes and Sherry Kennedy; sisters Nell Rimes and Sue Duncan; brother Sammy Bennett; grandsons Ronald (Sue) Hughes and Timothy (Melissa) Hughes; granddaughter LaDona (Todd) Peterson ; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Daniel Hughes, David Blackwell, Andy Dillon, Chris Mitchell, Paul Fortenberry, and Steven Hughes.

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Martin, OD Martin, Danny Bennett, Curtis Rimes, and Dwight Rimes.

Visitation will be at Hartman Hughes Funeral Home Chapel on November 21, 2019 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
