Billie Edwin Holmes, 86 of Tylertown, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025. He was born Monday, November 21, 1938 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Ollie E and Fannie B Holmes.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Capps Funeral Home in 270 Old Hwy 98 E, Tylertown, Mississippi. Visitation will also be held at Capps Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM with Bro. Randall Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A proud graduate of Lexie High School and Southwest Community College, Billie dedicated his life to farming as a respected dairyman and beef cattle farmer. He had a deep love for the land and the simple joys of country life. An avid hunter and fisherman, he cherished the time spent outdoors, but his greatest happiness came from his family.

Billie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Peggy H. Holmes; his beloved son, William Holmes (Sheila); and his cherished grandchildren, Allyson E Holmes, Jennifer Williamson (John), Aaron Skeen (Garrett), and Jace Conerly. He was also blessed with great grandchildren, Connor Holmes Alleman, Maeve Harper Alleman, Brenna Williamson, and Rilynn Skeen, who brought him endless joy.

Billie's legacy is one of love, hard work, and deep devotion to his family. His wisdom, kindness, and warm spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Brumfield, Brandon Moak, Bill Kennedy, Jeff Fortenberry, Alex Brumfield, and Joe Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Holmes, Richard Holmes, and Greg Smith.
