Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Jean Atchison, 85, of Tylertown, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Tylertown United Methodist with the Reverend Hong Yoo officiating.  Mrs. Atchison, a resident of Tylertown. died at the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb on Monday, October 15, 2018

She was born July 2, 1933 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Daisy and Alfred Cook.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Atchison; brothers; John Cook, Jesse Rushing, and Joe Rushing.  Two sons-in-law: Dr. Ray Callender and Ronald Kennemer.

"Granny Hen" was the best cook ever! —everyone always wanted more of her pecan pies.  She was her happiest when holding a child, be it her children, grandchildren, or any child.  She loved to read especially the classics and was a true farmer blessed with an amazing green thumb.  She was also very active in Tylertown United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Atchison "Granny Hen" is survived by two sons:  Roy Atchison and William (Skip) Atchison; Three daughters:  Bonnie Callender; Mary McCoy, and Martha Atchison.  One sister, Pat Terrell.  One brother, Shelton Rushing.   A brother-in-law, Joe Terrell.  A son-in-law, John McCoy; a daughter-in-law, Glenae Atchison.  Grandsons; Daniel McCoy; Matt McCoy; Ben Atchison; Abram Atchison; Ray Callender III and Matt McCoy.  Granddaughters:  Sarah and Anna Kennemer.  Seven Great-grandchildren.  A host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Ray Callender; Matt McCoy; Ben Atchison; Abram Atchison, Jeff Terrell, and Alex Paulk.

Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery with Hartman-Hughes Capps Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Hartman-Hughes
