Beloved husband, father, and friend, Charles was devoted to caring for his family as quoted "He was one of a kind" so loving and time spent with his wife and children was his life. He was a hard worker, running a fleet of 18-wheeler milk trucks from days with his father T.C. after his father became disabled. Charles was there daily devoted to helping his mother care for his father until his father's demise in 1982.
Continuing with the handling of the fleet, Charles also had a herd of beef cattle and in 1978 was named Beef Cattleman of the Year.
Later he began a dairy farm, milking 200 head of cows daily. He had one of the top dairy herds in Walthall County. He and his family were also named the Top Farm Family of the year during the 22 years in the dairy business.
Charles became a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church where he served as deacon for years. He loved his Lord and longed for his eternal home when his life was over.
His family reminisce all the wonderful times Charles spent not only with his children but with his grandchildren; William Thomas Smith (Will), Jacob Todd Smith (Jake), Dillon Chandler Smith, Chase Henry Clark, Maddox Chandler Smith, Lillie Kay Smith, Cora Cathern Smith, Demi Rebecca Smith, and Lana Bonnie Smith.
Whether it was mowing grass, working flower beds, hunting Easter eggs, or just laughing and just watching the kids, he knew he had Heaven on earth
