Charles Otho Gray, Sr., 83, of Hernando, MS passed away on July 23, 2026, in Oxford, MS. He was born on October 22, 1942, in Meridian, MS to the late Charles Willie “Shine” Gray and Nell Cooper Gray. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Charles Otho Gray, Jr. "Chuck”, Amy Branning, and Cathy Hill (Jimmy); grandchildren Dustin Gray, Lauren Hardy (Andrew), Savannah Davis, and Marynell Harrell.

Mr. Gray was able to attend Mississippi College on a full scholarship that he received as a talented basketball player. Along with basketball he was also a very skilled bowler. In 1963 he started his career as owner and operator of Gray’s Hosiery Mill until his retirement in 2009. For 46 years he proudly severed his community.
