Charles P. Magee Sr., born February 4, 1940, in Tylertown, MS, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, TX, after a brief illness.
A successful businessman, Charles owned Magee Chevrolet and later a pawn shop on the coast. In his later years, he transitioned to overseeing The Enclaves a rental property in Magnolia, MS.
An avid pilot, Charles took to the skies with a passion, although there were a few mishaps along the way that family and friends remember fondly.
Charles was a proud member of the Tylertown High School Chiefs Class of 1958. He cherished the lifelong bonds formed during those years and always looked forward to their class reunions. He was known for keeping in touch with classmates, adeptly navigating the computer to maintain up-to-date addresses for everyone, long before it became common.His love for Brahman bulls was well-known, though he had a memorable encounter when one tried to take him down.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Percy and Florence Magee, his brother James and his son Chuck. He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; his brother Harvey, his children Carla Bracey (Derek), Mark Magee, Cliff Magee (Amber), Clay Magee (Mandy), Tracy Guerra (Chuck), and Janet Seidenstickers (Philip); as well as his cherished grandchildren Dylan, Samantha, Heather, Bennett, Pailyn, Cliff Jr., Liam, Foster, Kourtney, Madisen, C.J., Presley, Paris, Jaedon, Patience, and Joseph. He also leaves behind five beautiful great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Pallbearers will be his sons, son-in-law Derek and grandson Dylan. Visitation will be held Monday morning 09/23/2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the service directly following at Hartman Hughes Funeral Home with Bro. Clay Magee officiating. Burial will take place immediately afterward at Tylertown Cemetery. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
