Obituary

Charles Delbert McBeth, age 71, passed away on July 8, 2023 at the Collins State Veterans Home in Collins, Mississippi. Delbert was born on June 15, 1952, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, son of J.W. McBeth, who preceded him in death, and Mary McBeth.

McBeth served in the Army National Guard and for the last 13 years was contracted at Camp Shelby through the Department of Defense Contractor as a training equipment armorer that takes a special skill. It was especially valuable when our local national guard was called in to service, and was remarked upon by his superiors by how gifted he was at it.

He leaves behind his wife Donna Bowman McBeth of 43 years, three sons, John and his wife Angel, Josh, and Jeb and his wife Emily, and three grandchildren Kyler, Andrew and Sutton, who is on the way.

Delbert was a graduate of Tylertown High School, Class of 1970. He was a great sports enthusiast and athlete. He enjoyed playing with the travel softball team Alive and Kicking that stayed together for about thirty years and won a number of championships. His team nickname was Snoopy and was an outstanding outfielder. Delbert was devoted to his family and loved being with them was very important. He loved playing baseball and spending time with them and assisting at sports was valuable to him. He loved time spent with his grandkids and having fun with them was one of his great joys. At home, he loved watching westerns, football, baseball, and enjoyed being a jokester with friends and family.
