Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Ginn, 88, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from the chapel of Capps Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Knippers officiating. Burial will be in the Magee's Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Ginn passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born May 15, 1929 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late John Emerson and Eunice Imogene Orr Henderson.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husbands Eugene Berkley Ginn, Sr. and Newland W. Ginn; two sisters and one brother.
She was a member of Magee's Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed working in the yard, especially with her flowers; and cooking. Not only was Mrs. Ginn well-known in the community as one of the best cooks; but also with her family who said "mama never cooked anything that wasn't good". She took pride in making and sharing her Virginia Sweet Pickles and her Bread and Butter Pickles. She spent countless hours preparing Christmas cakes, cookies, and candies, and then sharing them with her family and friends. Mrs. Clara was also known for her sweet spirit, her kind and gentle nature, and always had a smile for everyone.
Survivors include her daughter Teresa Ginn; sons Donald Ginn and Eugene Berkley Ginn, Jr. who followed his mother home a few hours later; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Ginn, Michael Ginn, Brian Ginn, Aaron Ginn, Marc Henderson, and Eugene McPherson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Boyd.
Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. until service time there at 1:00 P.M.
