Danny Wayne Holmes, 71, a lifelong resident of the Darbun Community. He passed away Wednesday, April 06, 2022 while doing what he loved, hunting. He lived and breathed the woods and was at peace.  He was born Saturday, June 24, 1950 in Tylertown, Mississippi to Herman and Juanita "Jo" Holmes.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Magee`s Creek Cemetery in Jayess, MS. Reverend Buddy Day will officiate. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Danny Wayne was a great husband and father. He made life better for all who knew him with his love. Danny Wayne was an avid hunter. He loved to share his sport, adventures, and knowledge of hunting with everyone he knew. He gave away many meals through his ability of hunting. Danny Wayne will always be remembered for wearing his camo and waiting for the next hunting season.

He was preceded in death by his father Herman Holmes.

Survivors include his wife Jennifer Breland Holmes; mother Juanita "Jo" Rushing Holmes; son Casey Holmes (Nikki); daughter Katie Dillon (Carlos); grandchildren Kaitlynn Dillon, Kailea Dillon, Carla Hallock, Carlea Dillon, Ty Holmes and Nevaeh Hollie; sisters Lynda Berry (Don) and Thressa Estes (Van); great grandchildren Victoria Hallock, Catherine Hallock, and Conrad Dillon; along with a host of friends and loving family.
