Darvis Mitchell
Boyd
October 1, 1951 – October 27, 2020
Funeral services for Mitchell Boyd, 69, of Tylertown, MS will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Lexie Baptist Church with Brother Randall Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the Enon Cemetery.
Mr. Boyd passed away in George County, Mississippi on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. He was born October 1, 1951 in Mccomb, Mississippi to Bobbie and Don Boyd. He was preceded in death by his father Don Boyd and daughter Lisa Michelle Boyd Ard.
Mitch Boyd was a true dedicated, honorable, and loving husband, daddy, and papaw. He loved God and strived to honor God in all his decisions throughout his entire life. He was an extremely hard worker. He always worked long hours and days and sacrificed family time to support and provide for his family. However, he never went one day without speaking to his family and being aware of what was happening in their lives. He was always there when you needed him. By trade Mitch was a welder. He worked for himself and many others across the United States. Over the last ten years he was a welding inspector for pipeline construction. He was well known for being a perfectionist. Every job he ever did was done with high standards. He never did anything halfway. This also included how he treated his friends and family. After retiring from work, he has enjoyed being with his wife but also spent a lot of time in his barn with his horses and dogs. His animals were also the center of his life. Since being home he has spent a lot of time dedicated to reading his bible and studying the word of God. He served as a deacon in his church and taught his men's bible study class. He will truly be missed. He will always leave a hole in our hearts. However, we do have peace of mind because we know he is with Jesus.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Louise Boyd; mother Bobbie Boyd; children Melissa (Daniel) Urbanic and Dennis Mitchell Boyd; grandchildren Nicholas Urbanic and Savannah Urbanic; sisters Kathy (Roy) Black and Tammy (Harvey) Saul; brother Ronnie (Sheri) Boyd; son-in-law Greg Ard; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
Pallbearers are Jamie Holmes, Connor Holmes, Harvey Saul, Kristopher Bridges, Keith Dandridge, and Benny Holmes.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Lane Holmes, Billy Johnson, AJ Schexnider, Deacons of Lexie Baptist Church, Robert Montgomery, and Richard Dunaway.
Visitation will be at Lexie Baptist Church on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 9:00 AM until service at 11:00 AM.
