Derena Mae Jordan, 85 of Magnolia, MS passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at her residence. She was born Monday, January 22, 1940 in Marion County, MS to the late Clyde Tullos and Geneva Tullos Powell Grainger. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Jordan; infant son, David Jordan; and 3 brother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, MS. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 9:00 AM until funeral at 10:00 AM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rushing Cemetery. Bro. Dwayne Wilson and Bro. Greg Whitehead will officiate. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Derena was a member of Bala Chitto Baptist and loved attending Sunday services. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; the true definition of Proverbs 31. Mrs. Jordan had a servant's heart for caring for others. Her family was blessed to call her "Mother".  Mrs. Derena enjoyed cooking for a crowd, traveling on cruises, singing, and playing music with her family.

Survivors include her sons, Donald Jordan (Shannon), Darrell Jordan (Dawanna), and Doyle Jordan (Anita); daughters, Annette Meyer, Delores Jernigan (Timothy), Dena Beard, and Doris Holliday (Scott); 1 sister;  4 brothers; 37 grandchildren;  65 great-grandchildren;  15 great great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Rowell, Ryan Holmes, Evan Holmes, Glen David Jones, Randy Holmes, Rhiley Holmes, Brenda Tullos, and Timothy Jernigan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Jordan, Kaleb Jordan, Ylisha Jordan, Adam Blankenbeckley, Jordan Crawford, Chris Blackwood, Aidan Miller, Brayden Mattingly, David Jordan, Michael Jordan, Jonathan Jordan, and Matthew Meyer.
