Funeral services for Mrs. Dorcas Childress, 73, of New Orleans, LA will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Hartman Hughes Chapel in Tylertown, MS with

Bro. Mark Wicker officiating.  Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery II in Tylertown, MS.

Mrs. Childress passed away at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, in New Braunfels, TX on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. She was born February 12, 1945 in New Orleans, LA to the late Eula Corrine Savoie and Allen Emmett Bowers Sr.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Carl Wyatt Childress Sr.; daughter-in-law Missy Childress; son-in-law Chuck Taylor; stepson John Childress; and siblings, Merle, Edna, Fredrick, Stanley, Albert "Larry", Allen, Grace and Carey Bowers.

Dorcas was a Momma & Grammy Dee to countless blessed souls. She was also a beautiful artist and humanitarian.

Survivors include her children Jimmy (Teresa) McGintey, Patrick (Donna) McGintey, and

Kathleen (Matthew) Schmidt; stepson Carl "Butch" Childress Jr.; step Daughter Denise Taylor; 21grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 5 siblings Susie Jundell, Shirley Sanders, Nora Romano, Brent Bowers, and Gerald Bowers.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Thidodaux, Terry Stephenson, Jimmy McGintey II, John McIlhatton III, Cody Schmidt, and Jason Grubb.

Visitation will be at Hartman Hughes Chapel in Tylertown, MS on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P.M.
