Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Lesine Harvey, 90, formerly of Tylertown, will be held at 10 A.M on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Centerville Baptist Church in Lexie with Reverends Jim Everett and Eddie Dupre officiating. Burial will be in the Rushing Cemetery.
Mrs. Harvey passed away at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. She was born April 20, 1928 in the Lexie Community of Walthall County, Mississippi to the late Leslie Theodore and Leda Mae Greer Stinson.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her former husband and father of their four children, Fleet Jones; husband Edward Harvey; sister Dean Stampelos; brothers Ansel Stinson and Jack Stinson; sisters-in-law Inez Jones, Evelyn Stinson, Shirley Stinson, and Dorothy Stinson; brothers-in-law Kost Stampelos, Lloyd Jones, and Henry Jones; son-in-law Jim Harris; and granddaughter Shannon Savannah Marie Robuck.
She was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church in Jackson and a school teacher retired from the Jackson Public Schools. For twenty years Mrs. Dorothy had also been the owner of The Fabric Nook in Jackson, specializing in custom draperies. She had also worked with D. H. Holmes and was a Mary Kay Consultant up to age 83. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing Bingo, sewing, cooking, reading, gardening, and traveling. Mrs. Harvey was an early riser and stayed busy all-day long with her work, church and community activities, and visiting family.
Survivors include her children Judy Harris, Ramona Robuck (John), Fleet Jones, Jr. (Connie), and Ann Hutchinson-Smith (James); brother Bobby Stinson; sister-in-law, Jane Jones; eleven grandchildren, thirteen grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Vince Robuck, David Robuck, James Smith, Ralph Stinson, Ryan Hutchinson, and Terry Stinson.
Visitation will be at Centerville Baptist Church-Lexie on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 9 A.M. until service time there at 10 A.M.
