Mr. Douglas R. Carter, 62, passed away at his residence in Tylertown   on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 after fighting a courageous 14-month battle with leukemia.    He was born July 9, 1955 in Crestview, Florida, the son of the late Bryan and Ruby Summerlin Carter.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorothy Rivero; a sister-in-law, Melanie Rivero; a brother-in-law, Theodore Berthelot, a grandson, and a nephew.   He was a retired self-employed truck driver.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Connie Rivero Carter.  One son, Joshua Carter;  One brother, Paris Carter; two sisters:  Vicki Lemoine and Earnestine Arnett; his father-in-law, James Rivero; and sisters-in-law, Penny Berthelot and Cherrie Bruhl.  4 Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
