Funeral services for Mr. Doyle Wesley Hughes, 81, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the chapel of Capps Funeral Home with Reverend Carl Dickens officiating. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery in the Dexter Community.

Mr. Hughes passed away at the Resthaven Nursing Home in Bogalusa on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was born September 6, 1936 in Walthall County, Mississippi to the late Wesley Theodore and Minnie Lou McKenzie Hughes.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Lavern Hughes and Billy Hughes; and sister Hilda Turnage.

He was a Superintendent retired from Gaylord Papermill, a member of Westside Baptist Church, and an avid Ole Miss fan.

Survivors include his sons Ricky Hughes, Michael (Tonya) Hughes, and Andrew Hughes; daughter Courtney (Chris) Mitchell; special nephew Jerry (Charlene) Herring; grandchildren Amanda (Matt) Osborne, Leslie (Winn) Cox, Kayla Hughes, and Ben Mitchell; great-grandchildren Haylee, Jackson, and Luke Osborne; sisters-in-law Bobbye Hughes and Georgia Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Mitchell, Ben Mitchell, Matt Osborne, Bobby Fortenberry, Bill West, and Terry Thomas.

Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 12 Noon till service time there at 2 P.M.
