Funeral services for Edna Earle Thornhill, 93, of Tylertown, MS will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Hartman-Hughes Chapel with Brother Danny Stevens and Brother Matthew Burkett officiating. Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery.

Mrs. Thornhill passed away at Diversicare in Tylertown, Mississippi on Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born September 9, 1926 in Walthall County, Mississippi to the late Beulah and Freddie Fortenberry. She is also preceded in death by her husband Joe Wayne Thornhill; sisters Lois Johnson and Lucille Varnell.

Edna was a member of Crystal Springs Baptist Church. The love of her life Joe Wayne Thornhill passed away 12 years ago but she still celebrated their anniversary. This year they would have celebrated 71 years together. She loved working in her yard, her blueberry bushes, birdhouses, and her flowers, but most of all, she loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Harry Joe (Debra) Thornhill and Kathy (Jon) Burkett; grandchildren Janie (Jason) Anderson, Joseph (Darlene) Thornhill, Christopher (Amanda) Burkett, Matthew (Morgan) Burkett, Jonathan Burkett, Carolyn (Ryan) Denney; great-grandchildren Emery Anderson, Emmett Anderson, Alana Burkett, Luke Denney, Mattie Lou Burkett, Milo Burkett; and nephew Fred Johnson.

Pallbearers are Joseph Thornhill, Christopher Burkett, Matthew Burkett, Jonathan Burkett, Mike Laird, and T.W. Bearden.

Visitation will be at Hartman-Hughes Chapel on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 PM.
