Services for Mrs. Elizabeth "E" Davis, 99, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Capps Funeral Home followed by a 3 P.M. meal and visitation period at the Tylertown Baptist Church Family Life Center. John McKie and the Reverend Justin Knight will officiate. Mrs. Davis, a former resident of Tylertown, died at the Bedford House in Hattiesburg on Friday, November 17, 2017.
She was born August 1, 1918 in Tylertown, the daughter of the late Chalmers and Bertha Waldrop Stogner. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and a business woman and a faithful member of Tylertown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, N.F. Davis, Jr.; two brothers: Olson Stogner and Reverend Billy Stogner; and two sisters: Iris Graves and Phoebe Pope.
Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons and their wives: Nelson Kent (Amy) Davis, and Franklin Keith (Joan) Davis. One daughter and her husband, Gloria (Dave) Channell. One sister, Virginia McKie. 7 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren
Pallbearers will be: Austin Channell, John Davis, Neil Davis, Mark Davis, Reid Davis, and Jon Bryan. Honorary pallbearers: Chim Stogner, Nathan Graves, and Buddy Pope.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Capps Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
No pre-service visitation is planned.
