Evelyn Brumfield

May 22, 1932 – April 21, 2024

Evelyn Brumfield, 91 of Kokomo, MS passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at her residence. She was born Sunday, May 22, 1932 in Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, MS and again on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM until service time at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Pearl River Baptist Church Cemetery. Elder Yancy Magee and Bro. Richard Magee will officiate. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting, cooking, flowers, working in the yard, and spending time with her k-9 companion Sophie. She was a devoted Christian who enjoyed reading her Bible and spending time with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband Winston Brumfield; father of her children James Stogner; son James Michael Stogner;  father James "Jim" Alexander Erwin;  mother Ethel Hobgood Erwin;  brothers Linsey Erwin and Scott Erwin;  sisters Maude Lang and Myrtle Evans;  granddaughter Angela Slocum;  great granddaughter Tinsley Pigott.

Survivors include her son Scotty Stogner (Barbara);  daughters Sandy Rowley and Brenda Magee;  grandsons Kyle Magee (Tonya), Matthew Stogner (Holly), and Trey Pigott (Sheridan);  granddaughters Kellie Desoto (Titus), Candace Bond (Jeff), Lacey Stogner, Bridgette Ard (Shane), Brooke Breedlove, Lisa Broussard, and Brandi McFadden; 17 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; special friend Rosemary Kennedy and Christine Dillon; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Rebecca Williams, home health, and hospice for the outstanding care that was given to Mrs. Evelyn.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Magee, Matthew Stogner, Trey Pigott, Zachary Reagan, Hayden Hitt, and Brayden Hitt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Kennedy, William Reagan, Darren Branch, Ken Craft, Butch Davis, Charles Bowman, and Johnny Ezell.
