Visitation for Mrs. Beth Upton will be at Knoxo Baptist Church, 257 Knoxo Road, Tylertown, MS 39667 on May 12, 2023 from 10 am until service time at 11 am. Burial will follow at Knoxo Baptist Church Cemetery, Tylertown, MS with Rev. Jim Ennis officiating. Hartman-Hughes will be in charge of arrangements.
Born to Jesse Leonard and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bullock at home in the Knoxo Community in Tylertown, MS, where she lived much of her life. She moved to Conroe, TX in 2013 to be near her daughter before returning to Tylertown, MS in April 2019 to Diversicare Nursing Home.
Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, known by all as "Granny Beth". She attended Knoxo Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir. She attended Mississippi College where she received her BS and Southern Miss where she received her master's degree. She taught school for over 40 years in the Pascagoula MS area and in Franklinton LA. She loved to garden and can fruits & vegetables, also cook big meals and make homemade pies. She was proud of her family history and family farm that has been in the family for more than 170 years and is still in the family and being used for cattle and timber.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Holland Upton (Husband), sons Guy Calhoun Faggard and Jeffery Leonard Faggard.
She is survived by her daughter Angela Faggard Love (Les Osborne) Pascagoula, MS , stepchildren, Ken Upton (Angel) Kokomo, MS, Joe Upton (Barbara) Kokomo, MS and Kathy Massey of Columbia, MS., 7 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Upton, Kenan Upton, Eric Upton, Neil Sayes, Joel Sayes, and Anthony Faggard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to the American Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
