Harlon Graves

Harlon Graves, 90, of Florence, Miss., died Monday, February 19, 2024 in Florence surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 9, 1933 in Tylertown.

Visitation is Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 at 10 a.m. until service time at noon at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown. Burial will follow in Rushing Cemetery. Brother  Calvin Crowe will officiate.

Mr. Graves was a Korean War veteran and served bravely in the Army's 82nd Airborne. He was a carpenter who enjoyed building houses, working on small engines, and bird watching. He loved history and he believed in family. He lavished love on his wife and children.

He was preceded in death by his father Harlon Peter Graves and mother Nellie Gray Estess Graves.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years Winnie Holmes Graves; sons Joe Graves, Daniel Bowman Graves (Rhonda), Wayne Graves and Stephen Graves (Rachel); his daughter Rhonda Graves Dunaway; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, friends and loving family.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons Landon McLendon, Leighton McLendon, Ethan Graves, Ian Graves, Sam Dunaway and Brady McLendon.
