Funeral services for Herbert Don McCallum Sr., 72, of Tylertown, MS will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Capps Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Wicker officiating. Burial will be in the Tylertown Cemetery.

Mr. McCallum passed away at his residence on Friday, July 19, 2019. He was born January 7, 1947 in Smith County, MS to Allos and W. H. McCallum.

Don was a member of Salem Baptist Church and The Teachers' Association. Mr. McCallum retired from Tylertown School District after 39 years as a teacher, football coach, and Jr. High principal.  He was an USM alumnus who loved to tailgate at the football games. Farming, working his cows, fishing, hunting, camping, and enjoying his two yorkies were some of his favorite past times; however what brought him the most enjoyment was being a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather.

Survivors along with his parents include wife of 49 years Susie McCallum; children Mindy (Earnie) McCallum Mullins and Herbert Don "Donnie" McCallum Jr; grandchildren Sage Mullins, McCall Mullins, and Kaleb Montgomery; sister Joan (Winston) Johnson; brother Danny (Karen) McCallum; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers are Sage Mullins, Billy Boyd, Kippy Kupper, Scott Kupper, Ronnie Rushing, Chris McCallum, Josh McCallum, Colton McCallum, Larry Holmes, and Scott Bond.

Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
