Hilton Dewitt Holmes, 68 of Jayess, MS passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at his residence. He was born Thursday, January 19, 1956 in Tylertown, MS to the late Atley Holmes and Maxine Hatfield Holmes.

A graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Magee's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Jayess, MS with Reverend David Heddon officiating. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hilton was a member of Enon Baptist Church. He was well known as the local propane delivery man for Herring Gas Company for many years until his retirement. During that time, he made many friends by socializing and taking good care of his customers. Mr. Hilton enjoyed cooking and visiting with different people in his community. He will be missed by many.

Survivors include his son, Adam Holmes (Lacey); daughter, Regina Howell (Randy); grandchildren, Addyson Holmes, Tanner O`Quin (Elizabeth), Nate Holmes, Wyatt Howell, Skylar Gilmore, and Saxon Howell; brothers, John Ray Holmes (Judy), Ronnie Holmes (Karen), Jerry Lane Holmes (Willie Mae), and Milton Holmes (Shelia); long with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
