Hugh Sammy Smith, II, 63 of Osyka, MS passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Mount Hermon, LA. He was born Saturday, October 1, 1960 in Tylertown, MS.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church, 41088 Hwy 438, MT. Hermon, LA 70450 from 10AM until service time at 11AM.

Mr. Sammy was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting. He loved to garden and hunt for arrowheads. Mr. Sammy favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and feeding them M & M's. Those memories will be cherished by the family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Samuel Smith, I; mother, Bonnie O`Bryant Smith; brother, Jimmy Cannon.

Survivors include his son, Russ Smith (Abbey); daughter, Maggie Smith; grandchildren, Heidi Smith, Bo Smith, Sammy Smith, and Waylon Gilmore; brother, Larry Cannon (Lavell); sister, Nola Ranum (Todd); sister-in-law, Sadie Cannon: along with a host of nephews, friends, and loving family.
