Funeral services for Irma Lampton, 89, of Tylertown, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Tylertown United Methodist. The burial will be held at Tylertown Cemetery.

Mrs. Lampton passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 13, 2018. She was born February 9, 1929 in Columbia, Mississippi to Erma and Robert Coman.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Erma and Robert Coman; her husband William Lampton; son James McDonald III; grandson James McDonald IV; sister Mary Bennett, and brother Robert Coman Jr..

Survivors include her son Thomas McDonald II; and grandsons Jason McDonald, Johnathan Coulson, and Robert Coulson.

Mrs. Lampton graduated from Mississippi State College for Women. She was the president of the Red Devon Association; the Grand Dame of the DAR; Miss Hazlehurst; she was also a longtime business woman co-owner of D.E. Lamptons and Cotton Wood Farms. Mrs. Lampton was also a teacher at Dexter. Mrs. Lampton was a prominent community leader; a member of the Methodist Church and hosted the annual Methodist Easter egg hunt.

Pallbearers are Milton Powell, Dudley Marble, Luke Lampton, Timothy Gipson, Johnathan Coulson, and Donnell Robert.

Honorary pallbearers are Thomas McDonald, Jason McDonald, Ken Knopp, and Andre Bates.

Visitation will be at her residence on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
