Graveside services for Mr. James Merrill Dillon, 77, of Tylertown, Mississippi will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Star Hill Cemetery with Rev. Landon Lambert and Rev. William Tullos officiating.
Mr. Dillon passed away at his residence in Tylertown, Mississippi on Thursday, April 30, 2020. He was born June 27, 1942 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Julia and Claiborne Dillon.He was also preceded in death by his son Patrick Dillon, grandson Gage Allen, and brother-in-law Jackie Miller.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked for the USDA Service Center for 15 years. Mr. Dilllon enjoyed farming, working with cattle, watching any LSU sports and the Saints play football. His other delight was his dog Oscar who was as much a part of the family as anyone else. They would take long rides together and was treated like one of the kids.
Survivors include his wife Wavelyn Dillon; 4 sons John Fussell Jr., Steven Fussell, Brian (Tyler) Fussell, and Dr. Andy (Melissa) Dillon; daughter Michelle (Jason) Allen; 2 sisters Delane (Jackie) Miller and Sue Hilliard; 14 grandchildren Kyle Fussell, Caroline Fussell, Ava Fussell, Jase Fussell, Cory Dillon, Trent Thomas, Justin Stafford, Taylor Dillon, Faith Dillon, Montgomery Dillon, Makinley Dillon, Jacob Schobey, Emily Schobey, and Blayde Allen; 4 great grandchildren Camerun Dillon, Shelbi Thomas, Brennan Stafford and Juliett Stafford; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loving family.
Pallbearers are Kyle Fussell, Montgomery Dillon, Jacob Schobey, Blayde Allen, Kevin Hudson, and Brennan Stafford.
Honorary pallbearers are Chad Hilton, Gary Stafford, Blaine Zeringue, and Roy Shubert.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
