James Henderson Rushing, 85 of Tylertown, MS passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022. He was born Wednesday, September 22, 1937 in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Capps Funeral Home in 270 Old Hwy 98 E, Tylertown, Mississippi. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 1:00 PM until funeral service at 2:00 PM at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Boyd Cemetery in Tylertown, Mississippi.  Reverend David Parker will officiate. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henderson was lovingly known as "Pepaw" by many. He was a master carpenter and a member of Magee's Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Henderson enjoyed working in his garden, doing yardwork, and fishing. But Pepaw's pride and joy was spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and favorite K-9 Stormy. Pepaw will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Sabrina Rushing Dillon and Michele Rushing Vince; father Rufus "Pete" Rushing; and mother Evelyn Magee Rushing.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Juanita Woodall Rushing; grandchildren Lacie Danielle Rushing, Lanie Michelle Tripp (Deveiun) and Whitney Vince Wills (Spencer); great grandchildren Autumn A'leighsa Rushing, Caleb "Bubba" Rushing, Landyn Tripp, Lakynn Tripp, Ramie Holmes and Daylon Tripp; brother Charlie Rushing (Lana); sister Janice Whitehead (Billy); along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
