Mr. James Lester "Jim" Wood, 78 of Franklinton, LA passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was born Friday, July 7, 1944 in Tylertown, MS.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, MS. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery in Tylertown, MS. Elder Duane Ball and Reverend James Thornhill will officiate. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed listening to The Ventures music, horses, making his own fireworks, drawing, and painting. Jim was always there with a helping hand in his community. He had a true fighting spirit when it came to his health and life. He will be missed by his family.

He was preceded in death by his father Freddie Wood; mother Mable Duncan Wood; brother Hubert Wood; sisters Rosa Rennett Graham, Edna Earl Landry, and Carolyn Elizabeth Wood.

Survivors include his sister Shirley Magee; sister-in-law Sue Wood; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers will be Brant Knight, Tyrone Knight, Danny Wood, Aaron Wood, Andrew Wood, and Logan Wood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gage Knight, Christian Wood, Tristin Thomas, and Delbert Wood .
