Funeral services for Mr. James McKenzie, 87, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Salem Baptist Church with Bros. Mark Wicker, Joseph Miller, and Duane McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the Boyd Cemetery in Salem.

Mr. McKenzie passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born November 27, 1930 in Salem, Mississippi to the late Eugene Marion and Lizzie Brumfield McKenzie.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sisters Lois, Eula, Lola, Neva, and Frances; and brothers Herman and Alcus.

He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a factory worker retired from New Orleans Furniture in Columbia, Mississippi. He enjoyed gardening, farming and taking care of his cows. Mr. McKenzie loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dollie Wallace McKenzie; children Duane McKenzie, Ricky (Susie) McKenzie, Beverly (Gary) Piper, Perry McKenzie, and Archie McKenzie; brothers-in-law Larry E. (Olive) Wallace and Jerry (Lavonne) Wallace; grandchildren Kevin, Rebecca, Kelly, Kimberly, Trisha, Kristopher, Matthew, Joshua, Michael and Hannah; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matthew McKenzie, Kevin Piper, Jason Hopper, Will Boyd, Kip Barrett, and Nick Treadaway.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael McKenzie, Brandan Criswell, Kaden Treadaway, Kristopher McKenzie, and Joshua McKenzie.

Visitation will be at Salem Baptist Church on Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 1:00 P.M. until service time there at 3:00 P.M.
