Funeral services for James Pete Stephens, 42, of Tylertown, MS will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Pleasant Hill Jesus Name Apostolic Church in Foxworth, MS with Bro. C. A. Gatlin officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS.

Mr. Stephens passed away at his residence in Tylertown, MS on Sunday, June 9, 2019. He was born October 6, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Genell Vaughn and the late James Johnston. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Ollie Barnes.

James loved his children, mother, and dog Hurshey. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed riding backroads.

Survivors include his mother Genell (Dennis)Vaughn; children Jeremy Neal, Taylor Morris, Anna Stephens, Alexis Heskett, and Karlie Stephens; best friend Harley Stephens; and a host of aunts, uncles, and loving family.

Pallbearers are Harley Stephens, Kevin Hansen, John Dillon, Alairk Anderson, Scott Holiday, John Baughtman, Mayo Corral, and Ian Bourn.

Visitation will be at Pleasant Hill Jesus Name Apostolic Church on June 12, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 12 noon.
