Janie Lucille Sandifer
February 12, 1931 – July 24, 2019
Funeral services for Janie Lucille Sandifer , 88, of Tylertown, will be held at Capps Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Elder Gerald Penton and Rev. Mark Wicker officiating; Burial will be at Hillcrest Gardens.
Mrs. Sandifer passed away in Tylertown, Mississippi on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. She was born February 12, 1931 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Susan and Hamlin Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard "Oultrie" Sandifer, her son David Sandifer and her brother Harry Johnson.
Mrs. Lucille had a "green thumb" and had many beautiful flowers. She said that at one time her husband, Oultrie, stated "I wish you loved me like you love your flowers". Yes, she loved him, but her flowers and plants were her pride and joy—she was a true environmentalist, a true friend who loved everyone and was always helping others. She was also a great homemaker—a true "domestic engineer". She loved her Lord and her Oral Missionary Baptist Church family. Up until her last days, she quoted a little poem: " I love you little; I love you big. I love you like a little pig" , and she always had a little smile on her face.
Survivors include two children Rosemary (Roy) Ginn, Doug (Sherry) Sandifer; sister Hilda Bateman; five grandchildren Joshua (Kim) Sandifer, Jessica Ginn, Kyle (Mallory) Ginn, Casey (Whittany) Ginn, Jacob (Erica) Sandifer; nine great-grandchildren Colton Sandifer, Holdyn Sandifer, Bradyn Sandifer, Cayden Sandifer, Braxton Sandifer, Kaston Sandifer, Colin Watts, Mattie Ginn and Austyn Ginn.
Pallbearers are grandsons: Joshua Sandifer, Jacob Sandifer, Kyle Ginn, Casey Ginn, Great-grandsons: Bradyn Sandifer, and Colton Sandifer.
Honorary pallbearers are Great-grandsons: Holdyn Sandifer, Cayden Sandifer, Kaston Sandifer, Braxton Sandifer, and Colin Watts.
