Funeral services for Mrs. Janifer G. Boyd, 77, of Jayess Mississippi will be held at 3:00 P. M. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Hartman Hughes Funeral Home with Brother David Hedden officiating.

Mrs. Janifer passed away at her home in Enon, Mississippi on September 28, 2022.   She was born to the late Cecil and Marie Grubbs of the Salem community.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Waiford Grubbs; a daughter, Vanessa Ann Boyd; and a granddaughter, Maya Ashlynn Rushing.

She graduated from Salem High School and went on to achieve a degree for an administrative assistant.  After marriage, she focused on her homemaking skills.  She was also known to deliver meals or help families in the community any way she could.  She was an avid piano player and did her best to pass on her love of music to her children and grandchildren.  Much of her adult life was spent caring for cats that she loved.

Survivors include one son, Ryan (Becky) Boyd; one daughter, Tanya (Toney) Rushing; six grandchildren, Brett Boyd, Reece Boyd, Mallory Boyd, Tristan Rushing, Aaron (Jenna) Rushing, and Kristi (Ken) Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Peyton Johnson and Levi Johnson.  She is also survived by her special friend, James Reid, as well as a host of family and friends.
