Jerrell R. Boyd, 80 of Jayess, MS passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. He was born November 8, 1942 in Tylertown, MS.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sartinville Cemetery in Jayess, MS. Reverend Burton Beard will officiate. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-676-3373

Mr. Jerrell was a family man that loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed being a rancher that raised beef and dairy cows.

He was preceded in death by parents Sammie Edrie Boyd and Mildred Marshalene Craft Boyd; brothers-in-law Paul Sones and Reverend Kent Cochran.

Survivors include his beloved wife Linda T. Boyd of Jayess, MS; son Jerrell Wayne Boyd (Wendy) of Sartinville, MS; grandchildren Brandi Boyd Perret (Cody) of Sartinville, MS and Samantha Boyd Sandifer (Trent) of Sartinville, MS; great grandchildren Bo Perret, Lilith Perret, Wyatt Sandifer, and great grandson to be born in June; siblings Jimmy Dale Boyd (Dixie) of Sartinville, MS, Rose Sones of Pricedale, MS, Kaye Beard (Gary) of Tylertown, MS, Millie Cochran of Smithdale, MS, and Alice Sandifer (Sandy) of Tylertown, MS; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins .
