Jessie Ralph Edwards

August 5, 1957 – October 14, 2026

Jessie Ralph Edwards, 69, of Tylertown, MS passed away on October 14, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 5, 1957 in Columbia, MS to the late Jessie Ray Edwards and Cordell Bullock Edwards. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his 3 siblings, Katie Edwards, Clara Holden, and Matthew Edwards.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Shirley Edwards; children Melissanne Stogner (Anthony), Kayla Edwards, Jennica Edwards, Janie Sistrunk, Dekota Edwards, Ethen Edwards, Kyle Edwards, and David Easly; grandchildren, Shyron Edwards, Dylan Stogner, Jesslyn Forbes, Alaina Edwards, Shaelynn Edwards, Awssie Davis, Sawyer Edwards, Jeremiah Walters, Audrey Sistrunk, Leth Davis, Presley Edwards, and Kadi Sistrunk; great grandchildren Christopher Colt Martin and Mariuna Edwards; brother Allen Edwards; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Mr. Edwards was a joker at heart, always trying to make everyone happy. He would get tickled making bird sounds and watching people try to find out where the bird was. He was someone who enjoyed life and wanted to make everyone else’s life better also. Mr. Jessie was a faithful member of Dexter Pentecostal Church where he also worked, able to do anything that was needed around the church. He loved his Lord and his church, even when he was down what he enjoyed doing was listening to the service from his phone.

Pallbearers will be Dekota Edwards, Kyle Edwards, Ethen Edwards, David Easly, Travis Hibley, and Christopher Martin.

Visitation will be held at Dexter Pentecostal Church, 717 Hwy 48, Tylertown, MS on Monday, October 19, 2026 from 5:00 PM until service time on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Terrell officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Foxworth, MS.
