Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Lee Greer, 96, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, January 5, 2018 from the chapel of Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home with Revs. Randall Garcia and Lindeal Greer officiating. Burial will be in the Greer Family Cemetery.

Mr. Greer passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his residence in Jayess, Mississippi. He was born November 9, 1921 in Walthall County, Mississippi to the late Murray James and Mary Alice Rushing Greer.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Dimple Virginia Armstrong Greer; a grandson Timothy Scott Waites; son-in-law Eddie Waites Sr.; brothers Lester "Red" Greer, and Clinton Greer; and sisters Gertrude Dunaway and Burganee Phillips.

He was of the Pentecostal Faith and had served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Greer was retired from American Box and Crate Company where he had been a mechanic for twenty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

Survivors include his son Dean Ray (Anna Lisa) Greer; daughters Sheila Ann Waites, Sharon L. (Aubrey) Rimes, Cindy Ebbers, and Charlotte (David) Stewart; brother Eldon (Alma) Greer; sister Remona Whittington; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Waites Jr., Danny Waites, Patrick Rimes, Daniel Martin, Jad Davis, Kris King, and Nicholas "Nick" Russell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Morris, Jason Morris, Timothy Waites, Samuel Waites, Nick Greer, Joe Wilson, Nathaniel Waites, Tyler Greer, Dylan Martin, Zayne Hummel, and Talon Drago.

Visitation will be at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 5:00-9:00 P.M. and on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 1: 00 P.M. until service time there at 3:00.
