Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Ted Fairburn., 76, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Lexie Baptist Church with Revs. Randall Griffin and Buddy Day officiating. Burial will be in the Rushing Cemetery.
Mr. Fairburn passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at his daughter's residence in Tylertown, Mississippi. He was born December 2, 1941 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Benjamin Franklin and Leola Jenkins Fairburn. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Geneva King Fairburn; siblings Pauline Skinner, O. D. Fairburn, Olan Fairburn, Mary Dorothy Fairburn, Benny J. Fairburn, Danny Ray Fairburn, and Jerry Dale Fairburn.
He was a member of Lexie Baptist Church and the American Legion. Mr. Fairburn was retired from the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves where he had served 33 years. He had owned and operated many businesses in Tylertown including The Frog Pond, Sip-N-Dip, The Tylertown Café, The Pool Hall, and a traveling roller skating rink. He was a bail bondsman, and a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed playing cards, poker, and dominoes; shooting pool, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters Amy Terrell, Barbara Fairburn, and Tammy Munn; sisters Margaret Fairburn and Marie Pope; grandchildren Amber Terrell, AnnaBelle Terrell, Luke Terrell, Heather Lewis, Rickie Dufrene, Corey Deer, Chad Deer, and Ashley Deer; great-grandchildren Bradley Baughman, Tyler Dufrene, Victoria Dufrene, Jacie Thibodeaux, and Mason Deer; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Luke Terrell, Ben Fairburn, Colby Small, Jerry Delaney, Dale Johnston, and Frankie Delaney.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Henry Mitchell, Harley Harvey, Charles Smith, Mike Smith, Sammy Earl Skinner, and Winston McDaniel.
Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and at the church on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until service time there at 2 P.M.
