Graveside services for Jo Ann Brumfield Newcomb, 81, of Tylertown, MS will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Boyd Cemetery with Brother Mark Wicker officiating.

Ms. Newcomb passed away at Billdora Senior Care Center in Tylertown, MS on Sunday, April 5, 2020. She was born January 9, 1939 in Walthall, MS to the late Essie and Jesse Brumfield. Ms. Newcomb is also preceded in death by her brothers Madison Brumfield and Frank Brumfield; sisters-in-law Polly Brumfield and Mary Lou Brumfield; and son-in-law Skipper Tagert.

Ms. Jo Ann was a member of Salem Baptist Church and Salem Baptist older ladies Sunday School class. She loved her church, her family, and everyone she met. Maw Jo was known for the best chicken and dumplings. She lived a good life and will be missed by many.

Survivors include daughter Sheila Tagert; grandchildren Sarah (Tom) Redens, Leland (Amanda) Tagert, Bruce Tagert, and  Mally Tagert; great-grandchildren Emalee Tagert, Sadie Tagert, Isabella Tagert, Thomas Redens, Gabriel Redens, Stella Tagert, Landon Tagert; brothers Bill Brumfield and Jerry Wayne (Terry) Brumfield;  sister Dean Boyd; sister-in-law Patsy Brumfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers are Riley Rials, Chris Rials, Chris Havard, Peyton Havard, Paxton Havard, Ferrell Brumfield, Darrell Brumfield, and Jason Mallette.

A private family visitation will be at Salem Baptist Church to comply with recent Coronavirus recommendations by the CDC.
