Joel Maxwell Sistrunk

Joel Maxwell Sistrunk, 63 of Jayess, MS passed away Friday, February 20, 2026 at his residence in Jayess, MS. He was born Tuesday, January 8, 1963 in Tylertown, MS. He was preceded in death by his son, Wes Dillon;  father, James Sistrunk;  brother, Michael Sistrunk;  grandfathers, Fate Sistrunk and Clyde Harvey;  grandmothers, Pearl Sistrunk and Lillie Harvey.

Visitation will be held at Sartinville Church, 6 E Sartinville Road, Jayess, MS, on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM . Interment will follow at Sartinville Cemetery.  Bro. Gary Robinson and Bro. Keith Smith will officiate. Hartman-Hughes  Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Joel enjoyed riding the backroads and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Chasity Pittman (Tyler);  mother, Betty  Jo Harvey Sistrunk;  brother, Craig Sistrunk;  sister, Kathy Vakali (Moe);  grandchildren, Jackson Pittman and Kellynn Pittman; dear friend Kelly Reid; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Harvey, Ken Ainsworth, Jimbo Speaks, Chris Price, Randy Allen, and Ricky Beard.
