Dr. John C. Barrett, 90, departed this life on August 11, 2026. He was born August 11, 1935 to John Clifton Barrett, Sr. and Nita Floyd Barrett, both of whom have preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by a son, Rickey Barrett, and by a brother, Larry A. Barrett.
John enjoyed a successful dentistry career which spanned over 56 years. He graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1959 and began his career in the U. S. John was an avid sportsman with a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, freshwater and saltwater fishing, camping, canoeing, boating, water skiing, and flying his private plane. He particularly loved sharing his love of hunting and fishing with his grandsons. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly, of 51 years and by two sons, a daughter, and their spouses: Todd and Melanie Barrett of Madison, MS; Chris and Dawn Barrett of Tylertown, MS; and Yvette and Keith Holmes also of Tylertown, MS.
