Funeral services for Mr. John Moseley, 82, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from the chapel of Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home with the Elders Jason Skippers and Mark Hobgood officiating. Burial will be in the Star Hill Cemetery with Elder Lavon Taylor officiating.
Mr. Moseley passed away at his residence in Tylertown, Mississippi on Monday, November 27, 2017. He was born December 1, 1934 in Hampton, South Carolina, the son of the late J.C. and Viola Priester Moseley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death a son Randal Moseley; step-sons Steve Cook and Buddy Cook and several brothers and sisters.
He was a member of Star Hill Baptist Church and had been a supervisor at Avondale Shipyard. He enjoyed traveling, watching westerns, listening to country music and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Laverne Manchester Moseley; sons John Thomas (Diane) Moseley, Jr., Bruce (Cheryl) Wood,James Cook, and Leonard Cook; daughters Connie (Randy) Nix, Lisa (Jimmy) Magee, and Janet (Steve) Schuman; brother Harold Moseley; sister Myrtle Ann Youmans; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Magee, Bruce Wood, Jonah Wood, Harold Klibert, Danny Lea, and Henry Wooten.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Earl Thomas, and Rocky Thomas.
Visitation on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 5 till 8 P.M. at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home.
