Jewell Warren Wood, 72 of Tylertown, MS passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024. He was born Wednesday, September 5, 1951 in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and then on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM at Union Baptist Church in 345 Hwy 27 North, Tylertown, MS with Bro Milliard Moak officiating. Burial will follow in Wood Cemetery. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

J.W. enjoyed teaching his children to swim down at Esco Creek, he loved Ford Bronco's, horses, working with his tractor, and watching westerns; but his pride and joy was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Dodge Wood;  mother, Vera Ellen Thompson Wood;  brothers, William "Woody" Thompson, Everette Wood and Easley Wood;  sisters, Shirley Stinson, Anna Lou Sumrall.

Survivors include his wife, Penny  Dillon Wood;  sons, Daniel M Wood (Allison) and Casey W Wood (Melissa);  daughter, Melissa Wood Bickham (Craig);  grandchildren, Colby Bickham (Calla), Chelsey Moore (Andrew), Cassie Stafford (Hunter), Chase Bickham, Kayley Wood, Kynsley Wood, Maverick Wood and Ryan "Tilly" Wood;  sister, Gwen Wood;  great grandchildren, Evelyn Bickham, Scarlett Stafford and Aiden Moore.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Shepherd, Lane Burch, Colby Bickham, Chase Bickham, Forrest Fountain, Joey Dillon, Jason Mallette, and Ralph Stinson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maverick Wood, Tory Sumrall, Craig Bickham, Tracey Sumrall, Jamie Wood, Jason Boone, Danny Wood, and Dale Brock.
