Kenneth Lynn Hughes

Funeral services for Kenneth Lynn Hughes, 58, of Columbus, MS will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at First Baptist Columbus, 202 7 ^th Street Columbus, MS 39701, with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Graveside service will be in the Tylertown Cemetery in Tylertown, MS on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM.

Mr. Hughes passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. He was born September 29, 1962 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Voudie and E C Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Avis Merle Hughes.

Kenneth was a retired CPA for Lowndes County School District. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, loved listening to music, flowers, and traveling. Kenny was loved and admired by so many, he had an infectious smile and genuinely loved life. Mr. Kenneth cherished his family and always said "everyday was a blessing".

Survivors include his wife Nichole Hughes; son Ethan (Cori) Hughes; daughters Chelsea (Curtis) Godfrey and Shelby Hughes; stepdaughter Dawn (Blake) Dillard; stepsons Jonathan Gwathney, Jordan Gwathney, and Joseph Gwathney; grandchildren Mackenzie Godfrey, Maddie Godfrey, Layna Dillard, Marley Dillard, and Klause Dillard; brother Edward (Linda) Hughes; sisters Wilkie Cutrer, Ledonia (James) Bracey, and Shannon (Carl) Landen; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.

Pallbearers are Curtis Godfrey, Billy Burge, Jim Powers, Randy Stacey, Landon Magee, Larry Montgomery, Benny Coon, Ken Craft, Stacy Smith, Donny Rushing, Barry Dillon, and Cole Boyd.

Honorary pallbearers are Neil Stinson, Jimmy Magee, and Chris Boyd.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Columbus on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 12 noon until service at 2:00 PM.
