Funeral services for Mr. Larry McKenzie, 87, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Capps Funeral Home with Rev. (LTC) Robert N. Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in the Boyd Cemetery in the Salem Community.
Mr. McKenzie passed away at Natchez Merit Hospital in Natchez, Mississippi on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. He was born January 28, 1930 in Walthall County, Mississippi to the late Floyd Thomas and Mary Frances Brumfield McKenzie. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a son Ronald Dwayne McKenzie; sisters Winnie Mae McKenzie and Audrey Lewis; and brother Darwin McKenzie.
He was of the Baptist Faith but attended Church Hill United Methodist Church in Natchez. Mr. McKenzie had served in the United States Army and had been employed with Lyle Cashion Company as an oilfield pumper. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, working with flowers, hunting, fishing and reading. Mr. McKenzie loved his family and being with them; and will be deeply missed by them all.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sara Holmes McKenzie; daughter Elizabeth Lott and her husband Kenneth; grandson McKenzie Lott and his wife Tiffany; granddaughter Kelly Lott Sacco and her husband Don; sisters Sylvia Bellau, Donis Brenteson; Carolyn Bergeron, Lucy Saia, and Hilda Salers; and brother Nelson McKenzie.
Pallbearers will be Steve Robertson, David Pyron, Eddie Stebbins, Bill Burnsed, Steve McKenzie, and Bradley McKenzie.
Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 5 – 8 P.M. and on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 10 A.M. until service time there at 11 A.M.
