Linda Virginia Martin

December 12, 1946 – September 5, 2020

Ms. Linda Virginia Martin, 73, of Meridian passed away peacefully Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Bedford Nursing Home in Marion. A graveside funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at Boyd Cemetery in Tylertown, Mississippi, on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 with Rev. Hubert Greer officiating. Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Ms. Martin was born December 12, 1946, to the late Nolan and Ida Mae Martin (Hawkins) in Tylertown, Mississippi. Linda attended Salem High School, never met a stranger, and always brought out the best in people. She loved unconditionally and was loved by all who knew her. Gifted with an ear for music, she played the piano, autoharp, and accordion, and was a lifelong, devoted fan of Donny Osmond. At Bedford Nursing Home she was a bingo champion and never missed a social event. Ms. Martin was a member of Highland Baptist Church and was active in the Faith Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Willie Greer, MD of Meridian; her nephew Willie Greer, Jr. of Raymond; her nieces Andrea Gramm (David) of Washington, Illinois, Rachael Greer (William Malchow) of Brooklyn, New York, and Christy Turner (Scott) of Meridian; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carole Greer.
