Lloyd Joseph Rivett, Jr. 78 of Foxworth, MS departed this life Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS, after courageously fighting Parkinson's disease for almost a decade. He was born Thursday, August 9, 1945 in Baton Rouge, LA.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Darbun Cemetery in Kokomo, MS. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Durr, Cody Johnston, Henry Arin, Donald Maddox, Jonah Corry, and Colby Stewart.
Mr. Lloyd was a patriot who enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family; as he loved his daughters greatly. Talking weekly with his sisters from Louisiana. Mr. Lloyd was also a painter by trade.
He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Joseph Rivett, Sr.; mother Virginia Ruth Crochet Rivett; brothers-in-law Louis H. Lange,Dale Sanders, and Guy Long; and special K-9 companion Opie.
Survivors include his daughters Theresa Rowley (Steve), Tracy Godwin (Lucas), Melissa Alexander, and Donna Price (Brad); grandchildren Christopher Stewart, Dymon Colgan, Colby Stewart (Rhegan), Lisa Arin (Henry), Jonah Corry, Ashley Johnston (Cody), Hannah Durr (Anthony), Samantha Price, Casey Price, and Stephen Price; brother Ronald Rivett; sisters Constance R Maddox (Donald), Joyce Lange, Claire Michele Rivett, Janet Kay Cook (Tommy), Cheryl Long, and Marcia Rivett; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made Parkinson's Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to all at the Asbury Hospice House for their care and compassion given to our father and us during this time.
