Mary Lou Fortenberry, 86 of Tylertown, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023. She was born Tuesday, September 15, 1936 in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery in Tylertown, Mississippi. Bro. Danny Stevens will officiate. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary was a longtime member of Crystal Springs Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law who was always there for her family when needed. Mrs. Mary spent most of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family, she was an exceptional cook who made the best biscuits, chicken pie, and dressing there ever was. And you could spot her fried chicken from a mile away. She enjoyed camping, going to fleamarkets, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pitt Fortenberry; father Percy Bilbo Lee;  mother Emma Zillian Kennedy Lee;  brother Percy Lee;  sister Hilda Hall.

Survivors include her son Todd Fortenberry (Jill); daughter Lea Barkley (Kenny); grandchildren Cory Barkley and Ashley Williamson (Ryan);  sister Jean Broom;  great grandchildren, Drake Williamson and Reed Williamson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and her in-laws.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Barkley, Ryan Williamson, Toney Hall, Skipper Anderson, Jeff Broom, and Tim Broom.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cory Barkley, Drake Williamson, and Reed Williamson.
